Secure Your Home Before The Move

Nothing beats a good security system. But sometimes they can be too expensive or unnecessary, these tips alongside a home security system is the best defense.

1. Keep The Driveway Full

An empty driveway means one thing to a potential thief, the house is empty. Make sure that you fill up your driveway as good as you can. Have an extra car? Make sure to park it in the driveway. Even an RV, motorbike will do fine. If you live in a high traffic area, you may be able to rent out your driveway as a parking space, making some extra cash.

2. Light Timers

Now, you don’t need a timer for each and every light in your home. It does help to make a few small lamps near windows turn on and off and random times of the day. You can even set the TV to turn off and on a few times creating some noise. The chance someone will burgle your home with these things going on and off is slim.

3. Surveillance

Now, of course we recommend real, working CCTV cameras. They can be had quite cheap, check places like Amazon or Ebay. If this is out of your budget, or you cannot be bothered to set up a whole system. Buy fake cameras. These non-working units will deter thefts just as well as real ones. The only problem is, if a theft does occur, you have no footage.

4. GPS

It’s 2021, and we have plenty of low profile, tiny GPS trackers available for cheap. Place these trackers in expensive items: TV’s, Laptops, Appliances etc. If someone does break into your home, you can alert the police to the exact location of those big ticket items, and the burglars.
